Our statement
Plastic is a valuable resource that will impact a worldwide circular economy
We have a lot
of work to do
Since the invention of modern polymers in the 20s of the last century plastic use has increased 20 times and will double in the next 20 years. The UN Environment Program estimates that between 7 and 10 billion tons of waste is produced worldwide each year.
We need to stop
losing money
The environmental costs to the global economy associated with all stages of the plastic life cycle are often underestimated: since only 9 to 30% of plastics are recycled in the world, lossesfrom damage to the aquatic ecosystem alone are estimated at $13 billion annually.
We need to quit
ineffective methods
Recycling plastic reduces energy consumption and harmful emissions, but requires additional procedures such as material collection, transportation, and sorting. Due to heavy pollution, some of the plastic waste is inaligible for standard recycling methods, while other methods do not show economical value.
PLASTCAT
Why PlastCat?
PlastCat is a low temperature plastic recycling technology which allows to receive high-quality liquid fuel with no emissions during the whole process.
What PlastCat is capable of?
  • Plastic waste treatment services
PlastCat modular plant is able to receive from 12.5 thousands up to 1 million tons of raw materials annually per location.
PlastCat's main financial advantage over other recyclers may be that this is not the main source of profit.
    01
  • EPCM Plant establishment
As the volume of investments increases due to an increase in the number of repeatable modules, the unit cost of building a plant decreases. It should also be noted that increasing the plant s capacity to 16 or more units increases its autonomy in electricity and water supply and increases the relative level of industrial safety.
    02
  • HQ Hydrocarbons realization
There are two types of commercializable hydrocarbons:
Light thermolysate (Type 1) is comparable to the gasoline fraction Heavy thermolysate (Type2) is close to the diesel fraction. An average total outcome from 1 ton of raw materials exceeds 0,86 tons.
    03
  • Carbon credits transfer
Carbon credits have proven to be a robust and financially lucrative market across the world. The EU price on carbon allowances is more than €80/ton. And yet, high-quality carbon offsets can be purchased for less than $10/ton.
    04
Why traditional plastic utilizing
and recycling is not what we need
So we have a plastic waste. What do you think to do with it?
  • Burn it down
For most pyro-technologies scaled to plant size so far it is common to see non- recyclable leftovers and gigantic energy consumption. Combination with carbon dioxide emissions for its maintaince makes these techs unsustainable.
  • Recycle to pellets and give a second life
It is a nice choice but still economically ineffective - all processes costs make secondary raw material more expensive than original. Moreover its hard to stay profitable without charging disposal fees or a municipal subsidy. Also there is no options to recycle for many kinds of other plastic, but for those that are theoretically recycable its common to be too dirty for this process.
  • Bury, it will degrade some day
If you have ever heard of Pacific Trash Vortex then you are also aware of microplastic. Will it degrade some day? Nobody sure. Is it appropriate? Absolutely not. Is it avoidable? Of course.

Core benefits
1
100% recycling efficiency
of contaminated polyolefins
(which are usually not
commercially recyclable
and account for more than 50%
of the total polymer waste)
2
100% recycling — 100%
of the processed products
are used either in the recycling
cycle or are a commercial product
3
The technology prevents
the release of 2.7 tons
of CO2 during the processing
of 1 ton of polymer waste
4
he technology allows to reduce
the amount of polymer waste incinerated and disposed
of in landfills by 150 million
tons per year
5
The technology makes
it possible to effectively
prevent microplastics pollution

Learn more about PlastCat

The process involves the destruction of plastics at temperatures of 370 C - 420 C in the presence of a catalyst. As a result of catalytic cracking, liquid hydrocarbons are formed, which can be used as raw materials for petrochemical industries - for example, for the production of polymers, solvents, paint products, fuel manufacturing, etc. The technology of low- temperature catalysis makes it possible to obtain high-quality hydrocarbon raw materials with a low amount of impurities from polymer waste, which is an important difference between the technology and pyrolytic (pyrolysis is the process of thermal decomposition of a material in the absence of oxygen). The final product consists of a hydrocarbon distillate containing aliphatic, cyclic aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons with a straight and branched chain, if necessary, the liquid fraction is separated by fractional distillation to obtain high-quality liquid fuel products.

A huge amount of plastic waste generated can be recycled using low-temperature catalysis technology, which will significantly reduce the need for the use of fossil fuels. This method is excellent in all respects (ecological and economical) if the proper infrastructure is provided. Thus, a technological process has been developed and implemented that can convert plastic waste into high-quality hydrocarbon raw materials. The technology makes it possible to recycle plastic in compliance with the highest environmental standards. The use of technology makes it possible to dispose of the bulk of currently non-recyclable hazardous plastic waste (primarily polyolefins) and reduce the need for crude oil.

The modular design of the plastic recycling plant allows you to scale production without the need to redesign the main technological solutions and equipment. The volume of processing of one standard processing module is approximately 13.4 thousand tons of plastic per year (about 40 tons per day). Each module has its own energy recovery system. The gas produced in the process of catalytic cracking serves as an energy carrier for furnace furnaces and gas-piston generators of electricity. The heat of the gas combustion products is disposed of and reused using the recovery system for drying raw materials and heating installations.
